This 08 YZ 250 F is a special bike build for 2 reasons:

1. This is joint effort between Malcolm himself and Dave Simon of F2 to design a real potent weapon for motocross and GNCC racing.
2. When completed, it will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, with the proceeds going to Malcolm's children's charity in Mexico. So the highest bidder wins twice. They get a one-of-a-kind world beating motorcycle, and a great tax deduction.

The bike building results of Malcolm and Dave started in 2005, when they worked together to build a KTM 200 EXC. Dave knew how to make stuff powerful and fast, but sometimes that was to much. Malcolm stepped in with all the years of knowledge and said " You know, all this rip roarin' power isn't what you want for off road. You need power, but it needs to be smooth and controlable, so the rear tire can hook up and make it effective.

When finshed, the bike was tested in Dirt Rider magazine. After riding the bike, they simply said "Malcolm Smith is a genius". This proved once again, that "The Legend", is the legend for a reason.
There have been a few joint projects since, but they were personal. If you want to have one of the baddest 250's around, stay tuned, this may be your chance.

It's time to make the YZ Fast.

We started by getting a set of mid-range cams coming. While we were waiting, we put the head through some flow exercises. We will be rebuilding the head this week with our beehive valve springs to help reliability at the higher rpms. Next we went to the carb.

Installing the fast cap was the first thing we did- even before we started the build. It really helped with throttle response even when the bike was totally stock. We really can't live without this thing on any of our bikes now!

Finally to make things easier to adjust, we put in our F2Racing fuel screw (see below).
